This thread contains handy "facts" for Troopers (Serving in the Army or Navy) to know.
Uniform (or "Kama") Colors:
Black = Ground Commander
White = Admiral
Blue = Light Armor
Red = Infantry
Green = Medical
Yellow = Signal
Orange = Ordnance
Personnel will do their best to wear the color of their branch. However, sometimes logistics are slow, and if you have to wear another color, it happens. At the end of the day armor is all about stopping bullets. But at functions, if at all possible, wear your Branch Identifier.
"Kama"= A Kama is a half skirt that is worn around the waist, is open at the front, and droops down to the back of the knees. This uniform article is reserved for Officers (IC'ly, not guild officers).
Ranks:
Most characters will be brought in at "Sergeant" or below. As you proceed in the Trooper Story you will have other ranks unlock. Until you are promoted IC'ly you will only wear the rank you were cleared at the time of your invitation.
((That said, this is only for RP functions. What you wear when you are off questing, PvP'ing, etc, that's all your business. Just make sure it's fixed back to where it should be before attending a guild function or engaging in random RP. Everyone is a reflection of the guild. If someone RP's with "Captain" Xyl'an but I'm supposed to be a Sergeant, if I bump into them at a guild function, it will be unnecessarily confusing for that person. Let's be consistent. ))
Customs and Courtesies:
Jedi General- If the Jedi General walks into the room, the room will be called to attention. This applies both indoors and outdoors. No salute is rendered.
---Jedi General is addressed as: "Jedi General", "General", or "Sir/Ma'am", until given leave to do otherwise.
Jedi Commander- If a Jedi Command walks into the room, (and the Jedi General is not present), the room will be called to attention. This applies both indoors and outdoors. No salute is rendered.
---Jedi Commander is addressed as: "Jedi Commander", "Commander", or "Sir/Ma'am", until given leave to do otherwise.
(((Jedi Auxiliary are addressed as "Jedi", "Knight", or "Consular" as appropriate.)))
Ground Commander - If the Ground Commander walks into a room or briefing (and there are no Jedi, or Admiral present) the room would be called to attention. If outdoors the group would be called to attention and all would salute.
The Ground Commander is addressed as "(His rank: "Captain")", "Gee-See", or "Sir / Ma'am".
Admiral- If the Admiral walks into a room or briefing (and there are no Jedi, or Ground Commander present) the room would be called to attention. If outdoors the group would be called to attention and all would salute. (EXCEPTION: If the Admiral walks onto -HIS- Flagship, attention will be called, and he will be saluted, even if Jedi or Ground Commander is present. )
--- Admiral is addressed as: "(His IC rank)", "Admiral", or "Sir / Ma'am"
Militia Captain- He is not part of the military structure and as such most customs and courtesies do not apply. However due to the weight of his station he is treated with the same respect one would treat the officers listed above. No calls to attention or salute are rendered to this individual.
--- Militia CPT is addressed as: "Civilian Title", "Captain", or "Sir/Ma'am".
OFFICERS:
